"No matter how skillfully one may lay out the holes and diversify them, nevertheless one must get the thrill of nature."

The designs of "Thomas Himmel Golf Course Design" are based on combining the history of the game and the demands of modern design, modern construction and the modern game itself. The game of Golf originally evolved on the dunes of Scotland. It required no major earthworks or constructions to enable the sport to be practiced. The lesson that is drawn from those natural courses has stood the test of time. "Whoever builds and plans in harmony with the terrain avoids high initial costs and achieves a harmonious golf course, adapted to its natural surroundings from the very start." Despite all the tradition and history we are open to all modern requirements of the game. Golf course design as an "Art-Form" is required when despite large earth moving and constructions, the appearance of harmony between the newly created golf course and its natural surroundings has to be achieved.
