The Golf du Rhin has selected Himmel Golf Design after an idea-competition to renovate and optimize the charming golf course in the middle of the Rhine river - north of Basel - over a period of several years with a step plan . Important topics such as space flexibility, enjoyment of play, water supply and irrigation, sustainability, resilience to climate change and biodiversity are to be optimised.

The general assembly of the club on 18.01.2025 approved the first stage of the measures by a clear majority. This stage includes shortening the golf course from the standing tees (yellow and red) and increasing flexibility with 5 tee-positions. Some new tees are being built for this purpose. However, the sporting ambition is to be maintained with the preservation of back tees for men and women.

The measures will be tackled in the coming weeks.
