The redesign and upgrades included the fairways of the Back-Nine as well as the holes 1, 3 and 4. Walkways between the fairways were shortened, safety problems were minimised and numerous fairways were visually enhanced and made more interesting and fairer. Existing water areas have been extended, reinforcing the ‘unique selling point’ as the most water-rich course on the island. A long-term heathland development programme is also intended to give the golf course its own character. The experience of nature on the course is to remain the guiding principle to ensure that the Golf & Nature certification already achieved is maintained. In order to guarantee play on 18 holes for mainland members and holidaymakers during the core months of June to October, the construction was extended to 3 construction phaseswhich took place in autumn and winter.
