New Design
The renowned Tegernseer Golf-Club Bad Wiessee e.V.. commissioned Himmel Golf Design with the renovation and redesign of its greens. The renovation was based on two fundamentals. Four of the course’s greens, due to their sloping surfaces, had to be golf-engineered to be made fairer and to create more suitable surface area. Furthermore, the first nine holes were completed in 1960 and the second nine holes in the mid-1980s. In the early 1990s, another four greens were redesigned. Considering all this, the golf club decided to renovate all 19 greens to make them consistent, also in light of rapidly changing European chemical spray regulations, and to position itself well as a club for the future.
Variable greens
In addition to the renovation itself, the very small greens, some less than 200 m², were enlarged, made more variable with more surface design and more different pin positions. Surrounds with sand capping and approaches with turf-bearing layers round off the improvements in quality.
Year of construction
Eye-catcher
The partly mediocre overall appearance of the old greens has been significantly upgraded by some Eye-catcher . In particular, the par-3 holes have received clear optical and game-related technical enhancements.
Bunker 2.0
The banal and inconspicuously shaped old bunkers have been replaced by clearly visible, and in terms of technical play, better positioned obstacles. Drainages of the old bunkers, which were for the most part non-existent, have been installed in the new bunkers as a matter of course.
