After the successful staging of the Swiss International Amateur Championships in summer 2020, the Golf and Country Club Zurich was asked by the European Golf Association to host the Men’s 2020 European Championship, which was cancelled in France. The staging on the course redesigned by Himmel Golf Design in 2016-2018 was, along with Matthias Schmid’s title defence, again a great success. The course presented itself in exceptionally good condition, catapulting it up amongst the top venues in Europe. Much praise from the EGA and the player’s coaches followed.
