Traditional club plans numerous changes – work has already begun

The 27-hole facility of the Golf-Club Sylt e.V. plans, in the course of necessary upgrades, to optimize the fairway 1, the back nine and the practice green. In cooperation with Rolf-Stephan Hansen, who is responsible for the planning of the Budersand Golf Course and who is based on the island, Himmel Golf Design is planning the redesign of the Back-Nine on the course in Wennigstedt. In addition to the general renovation of the greens, several fairways will be repositioned in orientation and for safety matters. Especially the very sharp dogleg of hole No. 1 is considerably defused by the reitwegomission of a bridle path. On the second nine holes, two lakes will be enlarged and the bunkers will be visually better staged.  Species-rich and site-typical grassland and heathland areas are planned as a visual enrichment of the relatively flat golf course.

Construction work on three greens began in October 2021 . Work on the remaining greens will start in August 2022 . Play on the new holes is planned for June 2023.
